This honey is a nectar of bloody flower

Director and Actor: Behnam Alibakhshi, 2010-2011

(Directing awards winner)

A Devised theater, based on Traditional Persian Theater (Taziye)

This play is inspired by the traditional Iranian performance of “Ta’zieh of Qasem’s Wedding,” which tells the story of a wedding that turns into a bloody and horrific massacre on the day of the celebration.

Ta’zieh, as a religious and historical form of drama, has always been able to deeply affect its audience through dramatic elements and music. This play, with its political and social themes, was performed especially after the social and political events in Iran in 2009, reflecting the realities of society.

The performance style of this play focuses on imagery, sound, music, and movement, with dialogue being a less powerful tool compared to the other elements of the performance. The use of these elements is such that it draws the audience into the depth of the story and the emotions of the characters, providing a unique and impactful experience. By combining various arts, this play has become a comprehensive and multi-dimensional artistic work that remains memorable.
